How to Play Roulette Roulette is a game in which the players bet on what number will be selected by spinning a wheel. Slots in the wheel are numbered from 1 to 36, with a 0 and a 00. The numbers on the wheel are alternately red and black, except that both 0 and 00 are green. Players bet by placing chips in appropriately marked areas on the table. After the bets are placed, the dealer spins the wheel, rolls the ball, and calls out the number of the slot where the ball stops. Losing bets are collected and winning bets are paid according to the odds below. The following figures show a chip placed on the board to indicate various bets.
Other bets and their payoffs are: TWELVE NUMBERS (1-15, 13-24, 25-36) pay 2-1 COLUMN BETS pay 2-1 RED, BLACK, ODD, EVEN, HIGH, LOW pay 1-1 Note that 0 and 00 are neither red nor black, odd nor even, high nor low. Roulette wheels in Europe and in Linley's house have only one zero (no 00). |
